Demaris & Andy’s Atlanta Wedding

One word perfectly sums up Demaris and Andy’s Atlanta wedding: classic. From the dresses, to the venues, and even down to the wedding cake, the day was flawlessly classic.

The sweet couple started the day at one of Atlanta’s most gorgeous churches, First Presbyterian Church. After a beautiful ceremony, the bride and groom headed to Cherokee Town & Country Club to celebrate in style. The food was delicious, the guests were excited to be there, and the music was awesome. The soulful band kept the party going all night long.

{Film!} Katie & John’s Engagement Session – Lake Rabun, Georgia

You are probably thinking, “Wait, haven’t they already posted pictures of Katie’s e-sesh? In fact, isn’t she married already? Where are those pictures?!” Don’t worry; you are not having deja vu. Yes, we have posted those pics already and yes, she is married, and we promise those pictures will be posted soon. BUT we finally sent the film in to get developed! I just had to share some of my favorite pictures from the rolls of film that I shot. It has been a long time since I shot with my old trusty Rollei, and of course, I thought, ”what better time to wipe off all the dust, than for our very own beautiful Katie’s e-sesh!?”

After getting the film back, I can see why a lot of photographers are switching back to film. I was like a kid on Christmas day opening a toy from Santa! I was giddy with excitement, but a little nervous too, because hey it’s film, and let’s be honest shooting: film is A LOT different than being able to see what you shot by simply looking at the pretty little screen on the back of your digital camera.

My eyes lit up with sheer joy when I laid eyes on the beautiful pictures! Clear and crisp photos with a beautiful soft color to them. Of course, when you have such a beautiful couple to photograph, you can’t really take a bad picture.

I even brought my little taped-up Holga (photographers, you know what I am talking about) along for the ride. I don’t normally take portraits with a Holga, but the two that I did take surprised me. I added those at the end just for a little fun.

Jackie & Stefan’s Pittsburgh Wedding

Jackie and Stefan had many options on where to hold their wedding, but the bride always knew that her hometown was where she would become a wife. Jackie’s from Pittsburgh, but had been living in Atlanta for several years when she met Stefan. Stefan was in town from Germany when a mutual friend introduced them. He spent a few months living in Atlanta for work, and the two continued their romance with trips to to the North Georgia mountains, Germany, and Montreal, where he proposed to his bride.

But after all the places they had travelled together, Pittsburgh was where Jackie’s heart was. And to marry her, he’d have to say his vows in the city of Steel. (We were actually surprised that the avid football fan didn’t require him to wear a Steelers jersey down the aisle!)

Their wedding was a sweet, small affair with their closest American and German friends and family members. Since the two would be moving to Germany shortly after they became man and wife, they also had a ceremony in Germany.

We had an amazing time in Steeler Nation, and the city is beautiful (“steel” doesn’t normally allude beauty, but trust us, it is.) And we got to finally try Primanti Bros. What more could we ask for?!

Occasions perfectly described the Highlands wedding as “rustic chic,” and the photos they chose do a wonderful job of showcasing the wedding. And who better to recap the day than the bride?! We love Patty’s descriptive, colorful recap of her big day. Our favorite part has to be her mother’s opinion on a certain Michael Jackson dance move…

Marion & Nick’s Summerour Rehearsal Dinner – Atlanta, Georgia

Marion and Nick are one of those couples that everyone wants to know. Their energy and love for each other is radiant, and their rehearsal dinner at Summerour Studios echoed that. The space was classically decorated with white and green floral arrangements, silver accents and crisp, natural-colored linens.

The couple welcomed their friends and family with a signature cocktail of Kentucky Bourbon slushes. They were served in Derby glasses from the groom’s parents’ and grandparents’ collections, which date back to early 1950′s — a wonderful homage to the groom’s home state of Kentucky. Their rehearsal dinner was a beautiful start to a magical wedding weekend!
